About this deal

It's certainly worthy of this limited-edition anniversary pressing, which comes on eye-catching silver-coloured vinyl.

Fat of the Land - 25th Anniversary Edition (SILVER VINYL) The Fat of the Land - 25th Anniversary Edition (SILVER VINYL)

Thursday 30 June - marks 25 years since the release of The Prodigy’s The Fat of the Land; an album so iconic it turned the sound of underground rave music into a global force; capturing the world's attention and dominating the charts. Saying no will not stop you from seeing our ads, but it may make them less relevant or more repetitive. I have not heard any other vinyl versions of this, but I can say without a doubt that this is the cleanest and punchiest version I have ever heard.

Astonishingly, a quarter of a century has now passed since The Prodigy released The Fat of the Land, the inspired rock-rave fusion opus that helped rocket the Essex combo towards superstardom and converted a whole generation of spotty indie kids to the joys of rambunctious rave music. Few albums were as eagerly anticipated as The Fat of the Land, the Prodigy's long-awaited follow-up to Music for the Jilted Generation. All those guest vocalists mean something -- Howlett is at his best when he's writing for himself or others, not his group's own vocalists. Track durations of C3 and D1 are different to the CD version, because the last 2 minutes of "Narayan" on the CD are the first 2 minutes of "Firestarter" on the LP version. Over the last few months he has disarmed packed rooms of rowdy concert goers, leaving them silent as they hold fast to every syllable sung.

Fat Of The Land (Vinyl 2LP) - Music Direct The Prodigy - The Fat Of The Land (Vinyl 2LP) - Music Direct

D2 contains portion of " Horn Track" by Egyptian Empire/Tim Taylor courtesy of London Records and published by Northcott Music administered by International Music Network. All those guest vocalists mean something, Howlett is at his best when he’s writing for himself or others.Nothing released before or after this comes close, this is one of the all time best electronic music albums in my opinion.

Fat Of The Land – 25th Anniversary | The Prodigy

The Fat of the Land was touted as the album that would bring electronica/techno to a wide American audience; and indeed it went on to sell 2. In celebration XL Recordings announces two-anniversary releases including a limited edition 2LP silver 12” vinyl package of the original album with a reimagined version of Alex Jenkin’s artwork, and a brand-new remix of “Firestarter” by drum and bass pioneer Andy C. The Music for the Jilted Generation vinyl release sounds great, too, but this album is 22 minutes shorter than Music for the Jilted Generation so there is much more space for each song on each side and you can really hear it !Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. The album's journey started with the single “ Firestarter”, which was released alongside a bold video that was shot in London’s abandoned Aldwych Tube station directed by Walter Stern.
