About this deal

Currently I am thinking of nothing but these books. That says a lot. I love books that utterly consume you and draw you in so that you can think of nothing else. The Deverill family feel as close to me at the moment as some of my dearest friends. I find that I am silently routing for them to succeed and praying the outcome is a happy one!

Daughters of Castle Deverill | Book by Santa Montefiore

I loved the first book in this trilogy and wondered if the second would come up to standard. It did. And it surpassed it. All the characters from the first book are here with the addition of new off spring as the years progress. There are twists and turns aplenty. I gasped out loud so many times with all the surprises coming my way. But the end just beat all. When Bridie's daughter goes in search of her real mother, the twist was totally unexpected! And the meeting in the hotel in Dublin is going to have a catastrophic effect I think. I struggled getting through this one... not the cute romance novel with some family drama in it that I expected.Castle Deverill, cherished home to the Deverill family in the west of Ireland for hundreds of years, has burned to the ground. But young and flighty Celia Deverill is determined to restore the sad ruin to its former glory. Celia married well and has the wealth to keep it in the family... and she cannot bear to see her beloved home stand neglected.

W]ith the Great Depression on the horizon, the childhood friends face further adversity, and once again show themselves to be hugely compelling characters. Montefiore . . . offers an insider’s look at the life of the aristocracy, writing with much skill and insight. Those of us hooked on the daughters of Ireland series will no doubt wait with bated breath for the next instalment of this intergenerational epic.” Nobody does epic romance like Santa Montefiore. Everything she writes, she writes from the heart ' Jojo Moyes El último secreto de los Deverill, es la conclusión de la triologia , una historia que tiene todo y que te deja sin nada , porque simplemente te roba el corazón. I have a tendresse for sweeping and epic romantic sagas set around huge houses and aristocratic families and Santa Montefiore hits the spot for me like few other writers... Längtar redan!I have a tendresse for sweeping and epic romantic sagas set around huge houses and aristocratic families and Santa Montefiore hits the spot for me like few other writers. This is the second book in her Deverill Chronicles, which follows the fortunes of Irish sisters, Kitty, Bridie and Celia, starts in 1925 and focuses on Celia's determination to restore Castle Deverill to its former glory. Lush, vivid storytelling' -- Sarra Manning * Red magazine, on Daughters of Castle Deverill * Meet Me Under the Ombu Tree is the unforgettable, evocative, and moving tale of forgiveness and love. It follows the lives of the Solanas family living in the tumultuous years of political turmoil in Argentina. Sofia Solanas is the lead character, a proud, resourceful, wilful, spoilt daughter of Argentine nobility. She lives on an expansive ranch and has been brought up under the spiritual practices of the gauchos, and the time-honored traditions of her highborn parents. Everybody seems to love Sofia except for Anna, her Irish mother who visits her sense of inadequacy and alienation on her daughter. When Sofia gets into a steamy love affair that her mother believes would disgrace the family if it ever came out, she banishes Sofia to Europe. By sending her away, she inadvertently exiles the daughter not only from her soul mate for over a decade but also from her family. This is Santa Montefiore at her best - an enchanting read overflowing with deliciously poignant moments. If you love a heartfelt, epic trilogy this is for you. I loved it and can't wait for more' -- Dinah Jefferies, author of The Tea Planter's Wife, on Songs of Love and War Sometimes second books can stand alone–this one, however, cannot. And there is no indication on the cover that this is part of a trilogy, so I have a feeling a lot of readers are going to end up confused like I was. Once I got into the book and kind of figured out what was going on, it was fine. The story started moving, and the pieces started making sense together–I still felt like I was playing catch up the whole time, though.

I just finished reading The French Gardener. What a marvelous story.I loved how you weaved the two stories together. The descriptions of the gardens and the cottage made me want to go and visit. I look forward to reading more of your stories. Reply
