A lovely addition to the The Dragonsitter series. I just wish it was longer as I was sad when it finished so I hope the author writes another one soon. The pictures are pretty cool by the way. This book is amazing! It's about a boy called Edward who goes on holiday with his Uncle Morton to a country called Magnolia. They are looking for the Great Dragon Battle Ceremony. This was my favourite part as the dragons flew around in different directions and no-one was hurt. The illustrations by Garry Parsons made the book better because it helped me understand the story as I was reading it and they were very good visually. Year 2 Long Term Curriculum Overview Year 2 Long Term Curriculum Overview

The main character is a boy called Eddie. Eddie is a clever boy who knows a lot about dragons. This is a little bit sad, and a little bit scary. A great book for anyone who likes dragons. My favourite character was Eddie because he is adventurous and I liked the world of dragons he was in. The theme of the story is adventure and I definitely think that it lived up to the theme. This book is great for children from around 7-12. I really liked how Uncle Morton has two dragons himself but when he meets the other dragons he’s terrified. Eddie, Emily and their mum go to stay on Uncle Morton’s island to look after his dragons. The island is full of surprises… This is sophisticated storytelling in a really accessible format, no wonder the series has now reached number ten.”Hilariously funny book to read. Story format is told in the form of letters between Eddie and his uncle Morton who owns dragons. As a surprise for Edd... Josh Lacey is the author of many books for children, including The Island of Thieves, Bearkeeper, and the Grk series. He worked as a journalist, a teacher, and a screenwriter before writing his first book, A Dog Called Grk. Josh lives in London with his wife and daughters. But dragons aren’t like other pets. For example, dragons eat fridges and pet rabbits. They don't like postmen. Or cats. And they DEFINITELY aren't house trained... It was shortlisted for the 2012 Roald Dahl Funny Prize: The Funniest Book for Children Aged Seven to Fourteen." [11] References [ edit ] I would like to read other books in this series because I really enjoyed the story and it was very interesting.
