About this deal

This Godox V1 review isn't going to be about stats or shooting into bare walls and talking about lighting patterns. It is going to be based wholly on real world use. So let's say we want two flashes which are RC with an output off about the same GN and we want to be able to shoot 200 times full power on a day. If one can live with the somewhat lesser quality ,let's assume it is, but just wants a speedlight for occasional use the difference in money involved together with the added features is hard to neglect. Its wireless control feature makes it easy to control multiple flashes from a single point of control remotely. If there are multiple flash groups and channels available, you will be able to control a more significant number of flash units remotely, and you will be able to create a wider variety of lighting setups for your videos. Having a flash with multiple groups and channels will give you more flexibility and control over the lighting. Additional features

Yes, it would. B10 is what caught my eye because it's so compact for such a powerful flash and for outdoor use weight matters a lot, as a heavy flash up there in the air needs a heavier duty stand, sand bag etc whereas a lighter weight flash may not need quite as rugged support. A lot of people use B1's for studio work, I believe. For me the Profotos as a whole are a bit on the pricey side, my Elinchroms were bought at discounts and they have worked well, although the HS Plus radio transmitter is somewhat ridiculous in how long it takes to communicate with the flash units to obtain an update of the current settings. I think Profoto B1's in place of my current lights would have been almost twice as expensive, and it was simply not economically practical. But now the B10 and A1 are very appealing to me as portable lights, they are still expensive but at least they have benefits (I'm aware Godox seems to have copied the A1, though I read Profoto is taking them to court). Which brings up another question: do I want to fund a company that invents a really clever and useful thing (the attachment interface and modifiers of the A1, or a company who copies it and sells it cheap)? I have to say that again in this case my priority would go to the original inventor, even if they have additional costs (R&D costs money). In some ways, the V1 sits strangely within the Godox lineup. For purely studio work, photographers interested in a compact, battery-powered flash might be better served by the diminutive, but more powerful, AD100Pro. Users simply looking for a speedlight will appreciate the V860 III’s broader focal range, built-in reflector and identical output power. There's no difference in power. I've measured both using my trusty Sekonic light meter and the results are the same. Powerful and Versatile: The Godox MF12-K2 is an incredibly powerful and versatile flash that can be adjusted from different angles. This makes it appropriate for both studio and outdoor shooting with an impressive range. It also features a built-in optical slave trigger with pre-flash detection, allowing you to synchronize multiple units for complex lighting setups. The most remarkable feature of this flash is that it is suitable for shooting extreme close-up subjects.I’ve owned the Godox V1 for close to a year now and I’ve used it at every single wedding I’ve shot. While many people have made a huge deal about the round-head, I am here to review the Godox V1 as a whole: what makes it different from a regular flash, how I use during weddings, and why it might just be the permanent on-camera flash solution you’ve been looking for. Godox V1 | Pros Capture stunning detail on a microscopic level with the Godox MF12 MF12-K2 12W macro flash. This powerful and lightweight flash unit, designed specifically for macro photography, makes it possible to capture small objects and intricate details with remarkable clarity. The adjustable head angle and focus distance give you complete control over exposure, while intuitive controls make it easy to set up and use with a Nikon camera. In fact I use SB-700 with two SB-5000's; the SB-700 is older and I keep it around because it's convenient to use as an on-camera bounce flash while the SB-5000's are then used as radio-controlled remotes.

Versatile Compatibility: This flash is compatible with all Nikon DSLR cameras and I-TTL II autoflash, making it an ideal choice for photographers who own multiple camera models. Moreover, it can also be used with Nikon’s Creative Lighting System (CLS) and other popular radio triggers, which means you can have more creative control over your lighting environment. As with all of Godox’s units, this flash carries all the features we need and expect. The Godox wireless system is built in as a commander and a slave, HSS is possible with every brand Godox supports, a modeling light and AF assist beam are present, and power is controllable from 1/1-1/256 in 1/10 stop increments.
