Covering and protection: Just like a physical cloak provides cover and protection for the body, the cloak is often used symbolically to represent spiritual protection. In the Bible, God is often described as a cloak or a shield that protects His people. The cloak, also known as the outer garment or mantle, was more than just a piece of clothing in biblical times. It was a representation of a person’s identity, authority, and power.
