About this deal

Effortless can opening: Cooks Professional electric tin opener does all the hard work for you with its one-touch operation. Just place it on the can, press the button, and watch the automatic can opener do the job – leaving you with a perfectly opened can, every time. It's very effective at its core job of opening tins. They attach easily to the device and are held securely.

GREAT GIFT – This could be a great gift to anybody, especially for left-handed users, and an ideal gift for the elderly, disabled or anyone suffering with RSI or Arthritis.

Since not much strength is required to use it, this type of the opener is a great choice for seniors, for people with arthritis or weak hands, and are also suitable for one-handed operation. The biggest complaint is that this type of gadget is not able to cut the can or it takes going around the can with the opener 2-3 times to complete the task. Cans with heavy seams, odd shapes or uneven rims may stall the Can Opener. If this happens, follow above procedure to release the can. Start the cutting action just beyond any minor bump or dent in the can. I've had mine for almost two years now but the one I have now is my second one as the first broke. Good thing it was still under warranty so it was replaced. It might just be the first one was from a bad batch because the second one was more durable. Hands free design - Place on top of the can and auto-start with simple press of "start" button. Auto-shut off after it cycles around the can. Leaves a smooth edge on the lid and the top of can. A magnet removes the can lid when you lift the opener.

My only concern is that this unit cuts through the body of the can, just UNDER the rolled seam. I was hoping this unit would be the sort that cuts INTO the seam, creating a re-usable lid and leavbing rolled metal on both the can and lid. Alas, not to be. Though the resulting can rim is smooth and dull, not something you'll cut yourself on easily, it isn't the greatest of methods. No danger as far as my tests showed, but still a *slight* let-down from optimum expectations. Upright vs. handheld: There are two main types of electric can openers: For upright and under-counter models, you simply attach the can; for handheld ones, you place the opener on the can and press or hold a lever or button to start the opening process. The opener applies the pressure and does the gripping and turning for you, which spares you the most uncomfortable motions. Automatic hands-free can opener in the market. The ergonomic handheld, compact design is shaped to fit the palm, is easy for storage and is totally portable. Safe and clean lid removal: After the can opener has completed its job, the built-in magnet gracefully lifts the lid off, leaving you with a smooth, clean edge – no more sharp edges. It’s a simple and safe way to dispose of the lid, ensuring your kitchen stays clean and hazard-free.The other common annoyance is that the opener “eats batteries” (so you need to keep lots of AA batteries handy). Though this is avoidable with a Walk-and Cut can opener that works on rechargeable battery. After replacing the batteries, following use of the stall release screw or the reverse button, press and hold the reverse button and can detect switch together until the Can Opener resets to its start position. Keep your fingers away from the cutter blade and drive wheel to prevent injury. Battery operated for cordless convenience: The electric can opener is cordless, giving you the freedom touse it wherever you need it. Whether you’re in your kitchen or hosting a picnic, our electric can openers are powered by just four AA batteries (not included) for ultimate convenience. Not any more they don't. This really is a one touch design. Put it on the can. Press the big green button and leave the gadget to do the job alone with no further interference. The cutter and the grips close on the can and start cutting moving around the can until the lid comes off. The edges of the can are smooth - anyone would be hard pressed to cut themselves with this. I would have no hesitation in allowing a younger member of the household use the One Touch Can Opener. We would have liked to have seen some non-slip feet, but otherwise the build quality is good and it looks nice on a worktop.
