The biggest complaint is that this type of gadget is not able to cut the can or it takes going around the can with the opener 2-3 times to complete the task. Start the cutting action just beyond any minor bump or dent in the can. I've had mine for almost two years now but the one I have now is my second one as the first broke. Good thing it was still under warranty so it was replaced. It might just be the first one was from a bad batch because the second one was more durable. My only concern is that this unit cuts through the body of the can, just UNDER the rolled seam. I was hoping this unit would be the sort that cuts INTO the seam, creating a re-usable lid and leavbing rolled metal on both the can and lid. Alas, not to be. Though the resulting can rim is smooth and dull, not something you'll cut yourself on easily, it isn't the greatest of methods. No danger as far as my tests showed, but still a *slight* let-down from optimum expectations.
