If you're considering purchasing Hogwarts Legacy: The Official Game Guide, I don't recommend it —unless you're a collector. It fails to provide answers to many puzzles and can be vague with certain quest walkthroughs. Thankfully, there are plenty of detailed Hogwarts Legacy guides online that will help you on your magical journey, like the ones here at Windows Central. One of the collectibles in the game is, frankly, knowledge. Throughout the castle lie a number of statues. These are often important figures in wizarding history, or depict aspects of everyday magical life. What makes them worth collecting is that each of them carry some tidbit about why that statue is important. Whether it’s a funny story, a historic moment, or a funny anecdote that serves as a cautionary tale, you’ll find these with the spell Revelio. I don’t normally chase down every collectible in a game, but I had to have every one of these. In this art book, we see some of them in incredible detail, including a personal favorite – the fountain that sits outside of the library. Hogwarts Legacy itself has no Ukrainian localization, but the artbook was translated by SBT Localization, which has already translated many games and managed to get into a number of scandals related to localizations this year. But, as for me, the translation of The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy turned out to be very good and high-quality, and I would gladly play Hogwarts Legacy translated by SBT Localization.

The problem is that the same places are described in the books and shown in different parts of the movie in different ways, and moreover, the events of the Hogwarts Legacy game take place 100 years before the events of the main series of books/films, and even 40-50 years before the events of Fantastic Beasts. So the developers had to create something similar to what readers/viewers have already seen, but something different, something in a completely new era, with its own style and rules. Readers will learn about the many facets of the game including a behind-the-scenes look at the settings, characters, costumes, and creatures. These are accompanied by conceptual artwork including sketches, illustrations and renders along with descriptions, giving fans more insight into the wizarding world. The concept art featured is never-before-seen pieces including locations such as Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Gringotts, and more. In addition to the art and descriptions, there are also exclusive interviews with the development team. But keep in mind that after reading the artbook, you might want to play through Hogwarts Legacy to see all the interesting things the developers talk about in the book. I did just that, reinstalling the game and starting it as a new character to get a different perspective on Hogwarts Legacy, knowing how certain design decisions were made. Think of it as a kind of Directors Cut. And yes, it’s a really cool game, and in terms of world design, it’s a really cool game. One of the most important aspects of any time spent in the Wizarding World is discovery, and anyone who reads the book is going to discover how the game was well thought out." Bringing Hogwarts to life must have been a daunting task, but filling in the spaces not described by the book could have been delightfully freeing. How far is it really from Hogwarts to Hogsmead? We know the kids in the books walked there, but how long did that really take? How far to the next town in any direction? How deep are the caverns in the lake?
