About this deal

He finds himself dismayed at his inability to solve the Theory of Relativity once and for all, even with a 16 bit Windows NT supercomputer and a dial up connection to this new information superhighway that everyone keeps talking about. which are one of the most indispensable qualities of this album—Liz Frazer and Sara Jay—but that's not to discredit the other vocalists. Every record is shipped in original factory-applied shrink wrap and has never been touched by human hands. Originally released in 1998 and now widely hailed as Massive Attack‘s masterpiece – and voted 15th in Q Magazine’s 100 Greatest British Albums Ever (2000) – Mezzanine saw the band move away from the trip-hop sound they had helped define to embrace rock and electronica. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

As per the original release, the artwork is by Hingston studios who have worked with Robert Del Naja from the band. During the Gulf War in 1991, their releases were labeled as 'Massive' to ensure continued airplay amidst pressure from the British Government. We are available to book for live shows and events, as well as bespoke licensed music for videos, commercials, TV, film and more.

Massive attack are often referred to as ths godfathers of the trip hop/Bristol scene and for me, I feel that "Mezzanine" was the release that sealed the deal. Of course, we all know the highlights by heart - the stoned bounce of "Karmacoma", evocative downtempo bliss of Tracey Thorn hook-up "Protection", string-drenched lusciousness of "Sly", and the gentle dub-house soul of the Horace Andy-voiced "Spying Glass", for example - but even the forgotten album cuts (see "Weather Storm" and "Better Things") have aged remarkably well. every part of this album is indispensable; absolute masterpiece, and the pinnacle of the trip-hop genre, imo. This time round, the re-mastered original set comes accompanied by something none of us have heard before: Mad Professor's complete dub translation, which was slated for release around the turn of the Millennium but for one reason or another never came out. It's very apparent on "Dissolved Girl," as soon as the vocals come in with "shame, s*s*such a shame".

Currently playing on my Thorens TD 160 with Nagaoka MP-110 feeding my Yamaha CA-800 which powers a pair of first generation Klipsch Heresy. de states this a 2017 release, but PLEASE never trust their info, you might receive a totally different album by a different band through all their dead links and false information. This album is a also a particular favourite amongst advertisers/creatives, hipsters, fashion packs, stoners and also as background music at middle class parties! hell even the 20bit HDCD, with peak extension, might fair better than the vinyl pressings, at least in some regard, seeing how this album seems to be a "challenge" for the vinyl format, as one commenter noted. To be sure, this album is very challenging material for the vinyl format; plenty of deep bass and also very crystalline highs, particularly on Elizabeth Frazer on "teardrop", but also on all the female vocalists featured on this album. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Vinyl also arrived slightly warped but that could've happened anywhere along the way, although I suspect the shrink wrapping to be the culprit. This third album signalled a change in sonic direction that played more explicitly on the darkness and tension that was always an undercurrent of their much loved debut Blue Lines and successor Protection.

Teardrop featuring Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins brings a new life and emotion to their trip-hop sound. While the resultant set, released in 1994, does quite hit the same dizzying heights, it remains a thoroughly great album.

Renowned graffiti artist [a151718], known then as 3-D, played a significant role in adopting and popularizing the Massive Attack slogan. That time came in 1995, when British sound system legend Mad Professor - responsible for some of the greatest UK-made dub records of all time - put his distinctive twist on Protection. Your speakers and the way they are positioned in the room will be tested hard on Angel, Black Milk and Group Four! With Mezzanine , however, the party had ended; revisiting the murky soundscapes so favoured by former partner and fellow Bristolian Tricky , the comeback single "Rising Son" muttering edgily about "cheap beer filled with crocodile tears", over the deepest bass. Review: Two decades have passed since Massive Attack signaled a new stage in their career with the dark, paranoid and claustrophobic brilliance of "Mezzanine", their third studio album.
