They all get very fond of him, and Issi is very gratefuk – so grateful that when the Martins go on holiday he decides to clean their house for them – by magic. Or else he uses his magic cards to provide amusement for himself – a room full of musical instruments, and even a knight on horseback to teach him to play chess. Their music can be described as a fusion of hard-edged evolving rhythms, ambient melodies, and twisted, cinematic soundscapes.Adopted by a group of adventurous youngsters, Issi Noho solved their weekly problems with his collection of magic numbered squares. As the composition progresses, a piano arpeggio enters, accompanied by chords, melodies, and electronic tones that add layers of intrigue to the evolving soundscape. Andrew and Sally took Issi to stay with the Martin family where they discovered he had magic powers which he would invoke by reading number puzzles from cards which he kept in a pouch around his neck – although his magic usually went awry. I didn't believe they would, but he persevered and took my scripts to both the BBC and Thames Television. No wonder the Chinese dragon, guardian of Issi’s magic powers, decides to pay him a visit to see how wisely he’s using his special gift.

Issi had camouflaged his packing case with branches and leaves and the children could only see the middle letters ISSI NOHO, which they took to be his name. This is a lovely venue for a picnic or just a peaceful walk with the family or dog, well worth a visit.
