The next few hours involve Garrett being treated as a guest, while he waits for the submarine to arrive. Garrett arrives at the Ministry of Defence for a meeting, and while in the bathroom a box of chess pieces is dropped off to him that his driver believes he mistakenly left in the car. At the meeting, the Major tells Garrett that he must stop socialising with Melnicker since he is a known communist. Directed by the BAFTA-nominated Cy Endfield, whose credits include Zulu and Hell Drivers, Hide and Seek also stars Oscar winner Hugh Griffith, Bond villain Curd Jürgens and Golden Globe-winning British actress Janet Munro; the film is presented here in a brand-new transfer from the original elements, in its as-exhibited theatrical aspect ratio.

They head down to the shore, where Garrett finds that he cannot identify the correct key to unlock a small motorboat.

Sadly, the decidedly naff title did summarise and embody the film only too well, both as regards final product and as a description of the plot. There are some good shots at Watford Junction in this thriller, taken on the now disused former platform 12.

Garrett makes several halfhearted attempts at escape, until finally Maggie reveals that she has taken a set of keys to try to help them escape.I remember him saying Zulu was the greatest film ever made…it might have been said partly tongue in cheek, but it was one of his favourite films. They are chased around in the train until Maggie pulls the emergency stop cord and she and Garrett jump off the train.
