About this deal

We started with the base retail edition that I got from my son for Father's Day, and loved even that version so much that we went ahead and spent more than I ever have on a board game and found a Collector's Edition (sealed) online. Up to four players play as survivors trying to escape a location by powering four generators and finding an exit.

Survivors move first, so killers have to successfully predict where they’re going and what they’re doing.Seeing the survivors stop in a space you've targetted and holding your poker face while they foolishly decide to try to work on the gen, before your devilish reveal of just how screwed they are. These are definitely not half-baked miniatures that don't match promo images or renders at all, as some Kickstarter original games sometimes have. The base game contains seven Survivors and six Killers, each with their own unique mechanics and styles of play. Join us on our live chat today at 2:30pm Mountain Time and we'll talk about the design processes and gameplay implications behind some of these mechanics.

The miniatures of the Survivors are all good, but it's really the Killer miniatures that stand out, and the creepy artwork on their Identity Boards helps bring them to life. It offers a very engaging and adrenaline-fueled experience that keeps players entertained and challenged, and provides plenty of variability and replayability thanks to the various characters, abilities, and game modes. This go's without saying but this isn't official in anyway, Level 99 Games, BHVR, and any license i decide to add does not have anything to do with this. Some concessions have been made in the name of a more fun board game experience, like the inability of survivors to die, since it would be mega boring to be dead and have to wait for the next game - or survivors being hook-able from injury instead of being downed, since having to keep track of three health states as a killer is a pain in the ass.Unlike the video game, you never have to worry about being down a person because the board game is always four survivors versus one killer, regardless of how many people are actually playing. Unlike the survivors, he is not activated by one card, but by two different ones, which always makes him faster than the survivors (not to mention the special abilities that often allow the killer extra movement).

There is no definitive plan to continuously update this version or localize any forms of text - but will update when I can. Although it is flawed – around the player count and people losing their turns – it translates the video game exceptionally well.Asked whether Dead by Daylight: The Board Game could see future expansions that bring characters released for the video game since the All-Kill DLC to its tabletop counterpart, Talton left the possibility open. The perk cards - used to change up killers and survivors - have not all been revealed, though, so it’s possible that they kept the perks without the license.
