About this deal

The other two points were that the sill end caps were not fitted as whole ends but cut and sealed for just the part visible externally. Again I would have done this different but told this doesn't matter as it is a sealed chamber in the sill . Is this an issue? Dimensions: Two panes bi-fold. I just wanted to continue from this thread as it not too old and also most relevant I could find (and has an image I refer to) so hope that is ok to do.Opening Direction: Looking at the door outside the house, do you want it hinged on the left or the right? The two-pane can also be supplied as a French door.

The system can accommodate pitches from 5 degrees to 15degrees, on standard modular kits the maximum projection is achieved at a pitch of 5 degrees. There’s a story behind this as we had to find a solution to a problem with regard to the dimensions of a sub-cill and how to measure them. As to which is required depends on whether you’re installing an aluminium bi-folding door, sliding door or window. You also need to give consideration for the floor and wall construction and Building Regulations. It also depends on what cills are available and appropriate to the design and/or aesthetics of the building internally and externally. Aluminium Sub-Cill Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I think I was somewhat unclear so sorry. I have attached an image to show what I mean more clearly. The window frame itself can have an effect on which type of cill should be used, but the majority of frames may be used with either slip or stooled cills. Thorverton Stone window cills may be used with most types of frame, but should you have a special requirement, just let us know and we will be happy to help. The Sill is not attached to the frame at all. When I said I fitted the sill first I meant on a bed of mortar not to the frame sorry. The height measurements must be from underneath of any existing removable cill unless no cill is required.

This question came up recently in a conversation so we decided to write this article as to why you’ll see both spellings and if one is correct. We’ll focus on the context of doors and windows and why the spellings are different in this industry and for the general population. The canopy is glazed with 16mm triple wall UV stabilised polycarbonate sheeting offering greater flexibility in canopy design with enhanced strength and rigidity, available in clear, bronze or opal tints. Durable, long-lasting and practically maintenance-free 150mm uPVC plastic window sill. Available in a range of coloured finishes to match your existing window profile, and easy to cut and fit.

I find it difficult to see why you don't have a 6mm gap(the height of the inner lip) under the frame at the sill outside. Sometimes it may be appropriate to use aluminium cill pressings instead of either an aluminium sub-cill or an aluminium extension cill. A cill pressing should not bridge the thermal break in the aluminium door/window profile as this creates a Cold Bridge which reduces the energy efficiency of the frames and in some cases will not be compliant with the Building Regulations as it could cause condensation. Threshold: This door comes with a standard point; you can upgrade to Low Aluminium Threshold in the options above. Cill options are available.

Mine more resembles the example on the left.. so more of a pointed tip than a groove... I assume both would do the same job..? Or should I look to get another with the grooved tip..?!?
